Food for thought
The Institute of Professional Studies was established in June 2000 by the Executive of the University of Allahabad. Currently, the Institute has four centres: Centre of Food Technology, Computer Center of Education, Centre of Fashion Design & Technology Center of Photojournalism & visual communication.
The unique characteristics of the Institute are the development of entrepreneurship programs in the fields of foodstuffs, construction apparel, multimedia, software, etc. The academic programmes of the Institute in collaboration with institutes like IIT Kharagpur, IIT, Kanpur, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi, nutrition and Action Research Centre (FRAC), Lucknow, and the Society for the Promotion of Area Resource Centres (SPARC) , Mumbai. It receives financial support from University Grants Commission and the Ministry of food processing industry, the Government of India. Ex-student of the Institute have found internships with organizations.
The Centre of Food Technology (CFT) has a comprehensive approach to human resources planning in the food sector. The Vision of food science, food production, food processing, food technology, food management, development of entrepreneurship, food and rural development, nutrition and industry shorthand for insurance the quality safe food and nutrition, research and development of functional food products. The MSc in food technology was in July 2002. This was confirmed by a grant from the Ministry of Industry processing of foodstuffs, the Government of India, as part of its?
