IRMA likely to increase the number of seats for PG programme
Indian Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) is probably the increase in the number of seats on 120 for two years post-graduate management programme in rural areas, its Director-in-Office LK Vaswani said today.
“We have already obtained approval AICTE, in this context,” he said overlooking Irmas 25 Convocation.
Currently, there are about 90 places for rural management programme at the Institute.
Of the 89 students during the game, his qualifications, Vasvani said: “Students of this lot have been in 21 organizations from co-operatives, NGOs, banks, micro-finance and trade-commerce.” IRMA is also the beginning of two new intitatves long-term management of natural resources and energy supply in rural areas, “he said.
“The first is in the water, mouth of the people known as SaciWater (Southeast Asia consortium inter-disciplinary studies of water resources), in eight countries in South Asia are partners,” he said.
“The focus of research and training in integrated management of water resources and their activities continue to be for four years,” Vasvani added.
“The second initiative is the establishment by the energy supply in rural areas, access to IRMA network to strengthen institutional capacities, the supply of electricity in rural areas,” he said.
