HSV plans to invest Rs 1900 cr for the ski areas of HP.
New Delhi, May 27 (PTI) Tourist Spots developers Himalayan Ski Village-plans to invest Rs 1,900 crore for the establishment of a ski-areas in the Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh and submitted a proposal to this regard to the Government.
“We have adjusted our proposal to the government and expect that compulsory registration, in the next six months,” HSV-CEO John Sims said.
HSV plans to invest 350 million euros (about Rs 1,900 crore) for the city’s development in the next 5-6 years. Of this amount, up to Rs 700 crore it is expected that this exercise has invested for the sole Resort operational between November 2008 and February 2009.
“We expect that the core of skiing by winter 2008-09 operational why we must invest more than 130 million euros,” said Sims.
HVS, promoted by Alfred Ford - the grandson of founder Henry Ford Motors Ford - has the necessary funds to the project. While half of the money has been routed through London, the rest was raised on the domestic market, “said Sims.
HSV, the development of the city, over an area of 100 hectares, with a capacity of up to 10000 learners train every day. The company will be approximately 3500 employees, for the proposed villa, Sims said that this would be the addition of at least 300 trainers for ski lessons and activities.
HSV has been working closely with Finpro, an arm of the Finnish government for the promotion of international trade, for the provision of construction materials, wood for the ski equipment and sportswear ready-made.
“We take note of guidance on skis training and building materials for the cold climate of Finpro,” said Sims, adding HSV prepared, in collaboration with many other Finnish companies by Finpro, would supply equipment for from the village. With the development of other projects, Sims said that the company would think of the future. “But we have other plans for the moment, we are concentrating on this project,” he said.
HSV also provides for the adoption of five villages as part of the initiative of Corporate Social Responsibility. To this end, the Commission has undertaken in close collaboration with the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal for the implementation of the environmental assessment to determine the environmental impact of the spa.
