Young & flying high
The “world’s youngest CEO” is looking forward to an affair with Pakistan.
Speaking at the inaugural function of a two-day international conference at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, 20-year-old Suhas Gopinath said: “Globals Inc. has been allotted an office space in Karachi by the prime minister of Pakistan, Shaukat Aziz.”
Globals Inc., of which Gopinath is the CEO, offers “tailormade solutions in fields like web, mobile and networking solutions”.
In April last year, when the company tried to open a branch in Karachi, the company website was hacked. “I have also received threatening emails and calls from certain groups in Pakistan that want to close down the enterprise,” said Gopinath.
He did not give up and now claims to have the support of the governments of both India and Pakistan.
“We had talks with young as well as senior leaders, including the prime ministers of both the countries,” said the young achiever, who plans to set up the office by November.
Gopinath wants to shift the company headquarters from California to his hometown Bangalore, where the government has assured him office space, in the next couple of years. He is also undergoing an engineering course at present.
“I attend classes in the morning and concentrate on the company at night,” he said. “This is how I will manage the company affairs once I shift to Bangalore.”
“Most of the employees I have in the company are freelancers. But I plan to recruit students from B-schools for the Bangalore branch,” he added.
Globals Inc. has been working on a project to interlink 947 Kendriya Vidyalaya centres.
The software is designed for office automation and student information.
