The Grenoble School of Management, a French triple accredited Business School, took Discovery of India, liaison with school management and recruitment of students on their management programs. NEW DELHI, May 3 Asia Pulse - Ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) slack season credit and monetary policy, Life Insurance Corporation of India, one of the biggest players in the financial sector, Saturday said there were expectations that interest rates could go up marginally.
“We see signs of interest rate hardening and there is a slight increase also,” LIC chairman S B Mathur said here at an insurance seminar organised by Birla Institute of Management Technology.
Observing that the yields on Government securities had risen to 5.23 per cent during October 2003 as compared to 5.11 per cent in the previous year period, he said “there was ample liqudity but market expects interest rate to go up marginally.”

Students passing out of private business schools (B-schools) in Delhi are being offered high salary packages to the tune of Rs7 lakh per annum, which is better than that offered to Indian Institute of Management (IIM) students. At the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, 94 students of 2005 batch were offered a compensation of Rs7.28 lakh per annum on an average as against Rs6.28 lakh per annum in 2004. At Amity Business School, 153 students out of 167 passing out in 2005 have been offered packages of Rs4 lakh in campus recruitments and the highest offer is Rs7 lakh per annum. Out of 95 students passing out from Birla Institute of Management Technology in 2005, 87 have already been placed with salaries being 70 percent higher than 2004. Campus placement exercise at the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, is yet to begin.

NEW DELHI: An overwhelming 95 per cent of India’s leading B-school graduates are willing to forego hefty pay packets for the sake of a job profile of their preference even as 79 per cent of these most sought- after students are keen on working offshore right at the start of their career, ASSOCHAM Business Barometer Survey (ABB) has shown.
Indian institutions imparting management education are the most coveted places visited by the national and mutli-national companies for their annual placements. Contrary to the conventional lure of high compensation, the aspirations of young Indian management graduates, as is clearly evident from the ABB survey of 271 students among top B-schools.
These include Indian Institute of Management (Kozhikode), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Institute of Management Technology (Ghaziabad), SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Symbiosis Institute of International Business (Pune), Xavier Institute of Management (Bhubaneswar), ICFAI Business School, Birla Institute of Management Technology, Institute of Agri Business.
