A student delegation comprising 13 students from MES Indian School, Doha, called on chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.
Naidu told the students that they could opt for Indian School of Business, which is affiliated to Wharton and Carnegie Mellon Universities, instead of US universities. He preferred computers to ameliorate the conditions of the masses as it ensured reforms, transparency, accuracy, clarity and speed in the administration, Naidu told the students.
The chief minister told the students that bio-technology, employment generation, women empowerment was being given impetus by his administration. Attracting private investment, development of human resources were also given greater emphasis, he said.

State health minister Dr Suryakanta Misra today called for a lowering of expenditure on human resources and increased investment on medical equipment. The minister was delivering the inaugural address at a seminar on “Healthcare Resources - Optimal Utilisation: A Management Challenge” by the Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management .
Currently, 80 per cent of the expenditure incurred is on human resources. Mr Misra also called for a hike in the healthcare outlay from the current 5-6 per cent to 7-8 per cent of the state budget. There is an urgent need to spend double the amount currently being spent on healthcare. India spends only 0.9 per cent of its GDP on healthcare.

The Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) today announced its agreement at the beginning of the process of amending its Memorandum of Association (MOA) to facilitate its expansion of its activities outside India .
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Director IIMB G Prakash Apte said the MoA signed in 1973, the Institute was created, not even a clause on the extension of its activities outside the country.
