Mumbai, Jan. 23: WHEN the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), the Government with its plans for the development on the campus for an extension of 25 hectares of land in Navi Mumbai in 2002, it was dismissed.

The state was 15 percent of reservations for students and the residence IIM-A refused to toe.

Once this plan has fallen by the Government a proposal to the central government, requesting authorization for the launch of a IIM in Mumbai.

Four years later, and two reminders, the State could resume its call for a Superior Technical IIM if ministers of education and Dilip Walse-Patil meets with officials from Human Resources Development (HRD), Department of Delhi, Jan. 27.

”While other issues to be discussed, it can access the IIM issue,’’said Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Technical Joyce Sankaran.

Walse-Patil could not be contacted.

The 2003 proposal to the HRD ministry has been provisionally, Sankaran. ”It is, in any case, some give and take,’’she said, in response to the question on the role of the government.
