Best Design Award for Forbes Marshall-Kessel

Pune: automation processes energy conservation major Forbes Marshall has been transferred from the State Prize for industry design MiniMax boilers for their homes.

This is the first time that the design of a price for an industrial product. The Design Excellence Awards from the National Institute of Design, in 17 different categories this year, by the jury of Korea, Japan, Israel and India.

What distinguishes products from one category to another outside aesthetics, the use of innovative materials and ergonomics mounting reduces costs and time, “said Nachiket Thakur, Senior Designer Forbes Marshall, who Minimax.

The product design, with its texture aluminum resistant to scratches, the front, he managed to salvage percent to 45 percent of production and assembly, while improving the current appearance, says it. The MiniMax compact boiler is unique in its category and the smallest boiler in the country, in conformity with the regulations Indian boiler.

The boiler with a capacity of 750 kg per hour, 1800 litres of water flow tank and 300 litres of fuel oil tank. Its uniqueness is its modularity, which is a First-of-its-kind on the market. It applies to small businesses - such as laundries, restaurants and hospitals - where steam is required for processing.

The product has all the components mounted on a single skid, which allows “plug and play”. “It is not only good and is comfortable to use, but it is technically advanced to maximize efficiency. Using the typical product has a payback time of one year is significantly lower than the competing offers,” naushad said Forbes, director of Forbes Marshall, received the award recently with Thakur at an awards ceremony in New Delhi recently.

The RS-200 crore Forbes Marshall devotes about 5 percent of its turnover in research and development (R & D). His department & R is constantly upgrading products and designs of the introduction of new products with modern appearance and function.

Recent designs a new product compact pump condensate, a boiler management system, Aquamon (analysis of the water quality) and thermo-compressors. “Industrial Design is emerging in India and stage of rewards as it will help attract attention to the spread of industrial development and promotion of more people in the region, including engineering design,” said Thakur.

These distinctions are part of a comprehensive plan for the formulation of the “political” by the central government, he said.

OFB focusses on cost reduction to be competitive.

Kolkata, Mar 8 (PTI) The Ordnance Factory Board is focussing on cost reduction and energy conservation to be competitive in manufacturing ammunition for the Indian armed forces and police.

“We are focussing on energy conservation and cost reduction to be competitive. We have significantly cut material costs through energy conservation,” OFB chairman P K Misra said here today.

Speaking at a seminar on energy efficiency organised by the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), he said OFB faced some challenge when ammunition was cheaply available in the global market after the collapse of the erstwhile USSR.

“This posed a challenge for us, but also gave an opportunity to enhance efficiency. We took measures to cut down our costs through measures like energy conservation, which reduced our water consumption significantly,” he said.

Efch Niehe, the Ambassador of the Netherlands, who visited the IISWBM, stressed on the need for energy conservation saying it was of immense importance for his country, where half of the land area lay below sea level.

He also called for enhanced use of renewable energy to meet energy demands.

IISWBM director Prof. A K Dutta said the institute, which is also the first India chapter of the international Association of Energy Engineers, has bagged the best community service and best student chapter awards last year.
