Indian delegation visits DU.

Dhaka, June 4 (UNB) - A high-profile delegation from different Indian educational institutions Sunday visited Dhaka University and met its VC Dr SMA Faiz. Indian High Commissioner Veena Sikri, Deputy High Commissioner S Chakravarti, DU Pro-VC Prof Yusuf Haider were present on the occasion. The delegation members are Dr RK Soni of Physics Department of Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, Prof Shantanu Bhhattacharyia of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Dr LS Shashidahra, Scientist of CCMB, Hyderabad and GL Sagar of Educational Consultants India Ltd Uttar Pradesh. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interests, especially the possibility of strengthening scientific cooperation, exchange of teachers and students and other programmes between the Dhaka University and the Indian institutions of higher education. Indian High Commissioner Veena Sikri assured VC Dr SMA Faiz of providing all possible assistance and cooperation to the Dhaka University. Later, a general discussion was held between the visiting Indian team and deans, chairmen and experts of the Dhaka University at the Centre of Excellence. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed between the Centre of Excellence for Science, Dhaka University and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore at 3PM tomorrow (Monday).

Cusat courses on Asia recently in the education fairs

The Commission had also asked the University to prepare a four-page brochure with detailed information on their academic programs and other benefits. Cusat proposed a combination of courses with emphasis on expertise in each department.

The School of Marine Science has proposed nine short-term programmes.
