Symbiose chapter in New Delhi

Symbiosis International Educational Centre (SIEC) is opening its first campus outside Pune, Delhi, during the next year. The status of the University of symbiosis, it expresses the pair with the Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia, under its own curriculum, conclusion and to open their campuses everywhere, subject to approval local government within and outside India. As a result of this symbiosis plans to open campus is not only in India but also in Oman, Mauritius and Thai country by the year 2005. The focus on education in these countries will have repercussions on Undergraduate, Post-Graduate underway with the management of development programmes.

“For the campus of the University of Delhi has 4 hectares of land at Dwaraka starts with its Law College, for students enrolled are calculated on the basis of a common national level, the entrance test,” said Dr SB Majumdar, founder and President Director, Symbiosis. Dr. Majumdar was the head of the department of botany Fergusson College. He began his residency at the symbiosis promotion of prosperity, education and hospitality for two students from India and abroad.

Currently, the symbiosis has 23 institutions and 112 courses. He has the strength student of 30, 000, with a large number of them from northern India and Third World countries. In addition, the symbiosis is also a center for distance education, where about 45, 000 NRI’s, and Indian students and professionals have registered.

SYMBIOSIS International Educational Centre (SIEC) is opening its first campus outside Pune, in Delhi, next year. The deemed university status for Symbiosis puts it at par with Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia that allows it to frame its own syllabus, confer its degree and open campuses anywhere, subject to local government permission, within and outside India. Following this, Symbiosis plans to open campuses not only in India but also in Oman, Mauritius and Thailand by the year 2005. The main thrust area of education in these countries will focus on Undergraduate, Post-graduate courses along with Management Development Programmes.

“For the Delhi Campus, the university has identified a 4-acre plot in Dwaraka that will start with its Law College, for which students will be enrolled on the basis of a national-level common entrance test,” said Dr S. B. Majumdar, Founder President and Director, Symbiosis. Dr Majumdar was the Head of the Botany Department of Fergusson College. He started Symbiosis at his residence promoting the welfare, education and hospitality for both Indian and foreign students.

At present, Symbiosis has 23 institutions and 112 courses. It has student strength of 30, 000, with a large number of them from North India and the third world countries. Apart from this, Symbiosis also offers a Centre for Distance Learning, where around 45, 000 NRI’s, and Indian students as well as working professionals have enrolled.

Granted Deemed University status this year, the Symbiosis International Education Centre will be opening a new campus in the Capital in the coming year.

The only campus outside Pune as of now, the University also plans to open new branches in Oman, Mauritius and Thailand. A four-acre plot has already been identified in Dwarka for the Law College, which will enrol students through a common entrance test, according to an announcement by the University here today. The areas of focus as far as its international campuses go would be undergraduate and post graduate courses apart from those on the lines of management development programmes.

With over 30,000 students pursuing 112 courses through its 26 institutions, the Symbiosis Institute claims to educate some 49,000 non-resident Indians through its Centre for Distance learning. The Institute is the brainchild of S.B. Majumdar, who headed the Botany department of Fergusson college for nearly 20 years. It was established in 1971 as the Symbiosis International Cultural and Educational Centre in Pune to promote friendship, co-operation and understanding between Indian and foreign students.

The institute currently imparts courses ranging from human resource development, foreign trade, mass communication, arts and commerce, telecommunication and information technology among others.
