Xaverians’ conclave role on Jesuit
Ranchi, Nov. 11: The Jesuit members of the Society of the state met today at a common platform under the banner of the Alumni Association Xaverian at St Xavier’s College, Ranchi. Alumni of the institution from various parts of the state also attended the meeting.
Superior general of World Society Jesuit, Peter Hans Colevanbach came from Rome to attend the meet and review the position of developmental activities undertaken by Jesuit Society in the state.
Alumni from different walks of life achievements and shared their experiences with the superior general. Representatives from St Xavier’s, Hazaribagh, St Xavier’s, Bokaro, Loyola Convent, Jamshedpur, Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, St Xavier’s, Dhanbad and many other institutions associated with the association Participated in the meet.
Apart from the alumni, the parents of some of the Xaverians contributed effectively. Mitali Ghosh, mother of a Xaverian, enthralled the audience by presenting Vande Mataram and in the traditional style pop.
“The first World Congress to be organised by south-eastern nations is going to be held at Kolkata on January 16 Colevanbach will attend the conference along with all the other Xaverians of the state,” said Kalyan Chowdhury, a member of the World Union and an former Xaverian.
One of the members of Doranda Old Xaverians (DOX), said, “We believe in giving back to the society what our institution has given us in all these years. We co-organizes regular programme activities in schools and colleges to promote all-round development of the future citizens of the state. ”
“We have started computer courses and provide specialised training to needy students. Felicitate We also teachers at school level to encourage young honing them in mind at schools,” he added.
Xaverians also carry out relief programmes. “Rescue activities were conducted by us during floods. We also conduct special classes for the local children to promote ecological awareness.
