FOR THOSE working executives who want to move up in their career by doing management courses, it could happen right from their place. The management programmes of several reputed institutions in the country can be done from anywhere in Tamil Nadu without the students having to leave their place.

Direcway Global Education, a venture of Hughes Escorts Communications Limited, offers management education for working professionals and graduates to enable them get degrees from the city they work in without having to quit the job. Courses of IIM, XLRI, IIFT and the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) are among the institutions with which Direcway has a tie-up. Live and interactive classes are held at several centres in the country via a satellite broadband network from a central studio. Degree, diploma and certificate programmes of 10 premier management institutions are offered.

At present, an Executive Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management programme of LIBA is being offered and admissions are undertaken by Direcway. It is a 14-month programme that can be taken by working executives for their career prospects. Classes will be held twice a week — on Wednesday and Friday — for three hours each day. The course is aimed at preparing candidates for senior management positions. The graduates are also eligible to apply. The selection is done on the basis of group discussions and personal interview. Admissions are being made in December and January.

Some of the advantages of the programme are that students can interact online with faculty across the country, study without leaving their job and their town, avail education loan and receive certificate from reputed institutions. In Tamil Nadu, it has centres in Chennai, Madurai, Tiruchi and Coimbatore.

Fayetteville, Ark.. — The University of Arkansas Global Campus opens a new site for Rogers to offer courses at the completion level programmes for students from the University of Arkansas track baccalaureate level.

The new Global Campus, probably in August opened in the period after 2008 fall semester, are on the fourth floor of the Centre Pinnacle a single building. The building also houses the World Trade Center, Arkansas and is directly west of Interstate 540, near the Embassy Suites hotel and John Q. Hammons Center.

The University is currently providing basic education and Business Administration Bachelor’s Degree programmes associates who deserves degree before in the Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC). In addition to programs Bachelor’s Degree conclusion, the Global Campus is also a graduate with programs adapted or Open Enrollment training, curriculum development and course of Executive Education.

“For some time, we discussed the need for greater presence in the middle of the emergence of joint venture in north-west of Arkansas,” said David G. Gearhart, the chancellor of the university selection. “This new initiative is, beginning with better access to the division of the superior courts and the promotion of bachelor degree diploma, and access to diplomas.”

The group Pinnacle, as a tenant for the new facility, the work required to construct, with the lease of 13000 square feet of space, and the move does not come with an investment volume of additional means of ‘University.

“The new Global Campus does not require an additional allocation of public funds, making fiscal responsibility enormous efforts and a chance to develop and improve our programs,” said Robert McMath, mid-chief and vice-chancellor of foreign academics. “As a country grant-University, University Outreach is crucial to our mission, and by this stage we allow access to our studies.”

The relocation of current offers of NWACC on the campus of the University new site of the two institutions additional space for future growth. In addition, classrooms, computer rooms and food services, as well as teachers and students, is crucial for the success of the new site.

“We value our partnership with NWACC, which should continue to grow and the amendment of the city,” said Linda Ballard Beene, dean of the University of Arkansas Global Campus and associate head of the Academic Outreach. “Through this new situation, expand our programs is a fantastic new space for synergy with the World Trade Center, Arkansas and made a University of Arkansas even more accessible education in the north-west of Arkansas. ”

In addition to the above offers are on the new website, Ballard expects to new fields of study online are developed in the near future, given that demand for these courses has risen steadily. The University of Arkansas currently has 23 curriculum for the delivery of distance by Global Campus, and more than 100 distance education courses were offered during the spring semester 2008.
