Our prosperity depends on our ability to adapt to all, almost all the time. We work in the early hours of the morning, on the model blackjack table 2 hours, breakfast, in the commune of Korean barbecue.
Thus, it can not, of course, that our valley public higher education are at the card 24 hours of the bid, in which competition was once the domain of victory for giants such as the University of Phoenix.
The College of Southern Nevada, 20 online degrees in the fields of accounting, to oral hygiene. He even an online program of teaching, six classes that can be carried out - online, of course - to be certified as a teacher online.
CSN-table of the Internet in the course over the past four years. The growth of Web classes UNLV has also been swift.
One of the five students at UNLV, one in four people in CSN, and a two-Henderson’s five-year-old Nevada State College, have at least one class on the Web.
Trends here the way across the country. Formalities registration and courses of the Internet is growing faster than the overall enrolment in higher education. During the fall of 2006, estimated at 3.48 million Americans were College, the website at least one classroom, according to nationality online: five years of growth of e-learning “, a report October 2007, sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, a philanthropic organization.
Students say Web classes with the place and diagrams, to avoid the nightmare of researchers on campus, parking garages. The removal of the shuttle from the school, it’s good for the land and money.
But online classes require a lot of independent study, and there is no face-to-face interaction with teachers and classmates. Price of failure at the end of the online courses are often higher than in the classics.
And if Recruiter say, employers contributing to the warming of a degree online deserves to teaching, research suggests identification of classrooms even more weight. In studies published since 2004, researchers Jonathan Adams and Margaret DeFleur found employers prefer candidates traditional degrees.
Programs online access to education, “which is certainly positive,” said DeFleur, dean of the author of the study and researcher at the Louisiana State University’s school of mass communication. ” But it is an assumption that everyone, that in a positive light as well. If the level of the hand and go knocking on the doors of some employers, how that person to see, will he? ”
In separate studies, and asked Adams DeFleur health of the employer, employers and higher education institutions, as a general rule, the recruitment of the faculty members on how it would react to job seekers , who made studies on the Web. In all cases, at least 95 percent of employers prefer candidates traditional degree above those online degrees. Hiring staff were also against prejudice, candidates who have done half of their professional training courses on the Internet.
Personal Interaction between teachers and students is a real approach to learning in the world, “one respondent to a written questionnaire.” There is no work in this organization, through the Internet. ”
In another study, researchers found that a single graduate school attendance of 10 cinemas enthusiastic officers recommend the inclusion of a student with good grades, test results and a high degree Web. Schools to the Internet were actually degrees more reluctant than others to accept e-degree holder.
Internet and diploma mills Substandard Web programs have sullied the image of online education, “said Adams.
Local company Human Resources Manager, however, say that to a certain extent by a duly accredited institution is positive, regardless of whether you deserve it. Robin Eitel, head of a placement agency for Nevada of Resource Associates, said she thinks but teamwork and skills are the most learned people in education: “I did not have an employer who said: “We are not the person, which consists of a Conclusion online (program).”
Tom Haynie, Chief Financial Officer of the company Manpower recruitment of Southern Nevada, has prejudiced against e-learning are vanishing quickly as accredited universities offer digital develop. Bosses have studied, you tend to look lovingly on cyber-education, he said.
Under the Employers’ Confederation about the lack of face-to-face interaction online programs, whether candidates have the experience in the workplace, said DeFleur. Roxanna Scaglione, 45, head of quality assurance specialist in the Yucca Mountain project, an increase after the termination of their scores University of Phoenix Online Bachelor in September.
Still, Adams, a professor at Florida State University, wrote a book on distance education, believes traditionalists at the expense of others, online training is becoming increasingly exist. Citizens have knocked on the quality of distance education since college offers courses correspondence began in late 1800, “said Adams.
“If that 120 years from now, 130 years, and everyone’s perceptions again, it is roughly the same as they are now, I do not think that this will change. … We are not if you arrive at an In our society, where everyone is going to accept online courses or distance, “he said.
But, of course, with fast Internet offer two channels of communication, classes may Digital today are radically different from those push e-mail. Yolanda Hernandez scientific online classes CSN Spanish videos, oral exercises and supplements by phone or e-mail, when they need it. People are afraid to ask questions and find colleagues to discuss on the Web at less intimidating, she said.
In Internet, debates, many students write, to reflect comments might not be in the classroom, “said Gwen Sharp, sociology of education online this semester for the first time at NSC.
Participation of the Internet can be more easily than in a classroom, but the classes themselves are not simple, staff and faculty members for CSN, NSC and UNLV said. They say their campuses and online courses are as stringent, the same substance.
Fears of fraud afflicting online are exaggerated, say, e-learning gurus like Judith Osterman, director of distance learning UNLV. As in the campus, courses, the members of the faculty “how a student of the” voice “and work plan on-line, she said in an e-mail.
But many people who are simply in higher education learning. Despite all the available technical resources, a lot of courses on the Web before are based on texts based on communication methods such as e-mail and bulletin boards.

Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 — Although most economists say the United States is not in a recession, the pocketbooks of many Americans would say otherwise. In fact, a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that the majority of people in the U.S. believe we are now in a recession and inflation is their top concern. In the face of economic struggles, eLearners.com, a web resource of EducationDynamics that connects prospective students with online colleges, is seeing an increase in requests for information on online MBA degrees.
“In tough economic times people with an MBA or other advanced degree are often the ones that come out ahead,” said Terrence Thomas, Chief Marketing Officer for eLearners.com. “Those with a higher education will stand out against their competitors, making them more marketable for higher-paying jobs.”
In tough economic times people with an MBA or other advanced degree are often the ones that come out ahead
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a higher level of education equals higher overall lifetime earnings. Census Data projects that a professional degree holder (e.g. lawyer or doctor) will earn $4.4 million in the span of his or her career. The U.S. Census Bureau also found that people with an MBA or other advanced degree earned four times that of people with a high school diploma ($82,320 compared to $20,873 respectively).
“But, it’s not just about about the money, particularly in recessionary periods,” continued Thomas. “It’s about employability.”
A September 2007 College Board report titled “Education Pays” found that higher levels of education directly correspond to a lower unemployment rate. The average unemployment rate for people with at least a bachelor’s degree was around two percent, while the average unemployment rate for high school graduates was nearly five percent.
To “recession proof” their employment, many Americans are seeking advanced degrees, such as an MBA degree, to solidify their current position or to switch careers entirely. People are also looking to education to tap into jobs that may handle the hard economic times better than others. Some of those fields include education, international business, security and healthcare. For people having to juggle a career and school, online colleges are a perfect fit because of their convenience and flexibility. eLearners.com lists the following as its top ten most requested online master’s degrees: Business Administration, Counseling, Psychology, Health Administration, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, K-12 Education and Educational Leadership.
