Today, India began the first by clinical studies on humans an experimental vaccine candidate aims to prevent HIV / AIDS. The Association of International Education in science, economics and entertainment (AIESEC), the world’s largest student-Run Organization has a network of more than 30000 students from 800 universities, is the organization of a conference on the theme “Leadership Development” in clubs Sterling to Puri, Orissa. The National Leadership Development Seminar (NLDS), September 22 to 27, in the presence of 300 students from 11 cities in India.

The Psychology Department of Maharshi Dayanand University is holding an assessment camp at Sri Ram Senior School here tomorrow. The thrust of the camp would be the use of standardised psychological tools to assess interests, attitude, aptitude, intelligence level, adjustment, personality traits etc of the students. The head of the department, Dr N. R. Sharma, said that the camp was aimed at enhancing awareness in masses about the application of psychological principles vis-a-vis understanding human potential and behavioural patterns.
Further an acupressure camp, a free workshop on acupressure as well as a paid acupressure basic training programme are also being organised at the university health centre. These started today and will be on till December 20.
Meanwhile, consequent upon his appointment as Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Dr S. N. Mittal, will be a member of the Executive Council and the Finance Committee of the university under Statute-II and Statute-15 of the MDU Act with effect from December 19, 2002 to July 19, 2003.

Arena Multimedia, leaders in multimedia training in Asia, has achieved a significant milestone by enrolling one lakh students. The student, who took the number to one lakh, was felicitated at a glittering ceremony in the Capital.
Arena also announced the launch of its multimedia awareness project, especially for the underprivileged, titled Project Srishti, under which it will initially train 1,000 underprivileged students on multimedia technologies nationwide.
Arena Multimedia, in a span of over six years, has a 55 per cent market share in India and is present across seven countries in 260 centres. It has also partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) during the CIIs’ declaration of the year 2002-03 as the Year of Multimedia recently. Arena has held a series of seminars and workshops and launched new courses to further popularise the use of multimedia and multimedia applications in the country.
It also organised the first International Conference on Multimedia & Design, (ICMD-2002) under the aegis of SIGMMA to present and observe the latest research results and idea for researchers and practitioners worldwide.

Erzürnt by privatization efforts of higher education in the country, AIFUCTO (All India Federation of University College and professor of organizations) and FEDUCTA (Association of Universities funds Teachers’ Associations) have launched a campaign ‘Save Education ” . The campaign began in possession of a dharna outside the UGC office.
More than 1000 teachers across the country gathered to protest against what they claim is the creeping privatization, opening the doors of foreign universities, subversion of the secular nature of education and the attack on teachers ” Conditions of service and entitlements.

Amity has joined hands with the Zambian technical education and vocational regulatory body, the Technical Education Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority, to promote quality educational and management programmes and training in Zambia and India.
Atul Chauhan, President, Amity, and Dr. Patrick Nkanza, Director General, TEVETA, signed the MoU, as per which both will conduct a study to identify the training needs of the Zambian training institutes.
Student and faculty exchanges will be undertaken and training will be offered in areas like Business Management, Finance, Behavioural Science, Biotechnology and Insurance and Actuarial Science.
The TEVETA will assist Amity in setting up institutions in Zambia by providing information on general political and economic environment.

Debate with journalism students during a seminar on “The importance of journalism and media, science today,” organized by the Institute of training in integrated management, Dr. Chandan Mitra, editor, The Pioneer, pointed out that the expanded scope and career in the sector.
