Indias initiative to help promote higher education in African countries has taken concrete shape with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) launching its MBA programme in Ethiopia. A two-week short-term training programme on emerging technologies in energy management with special emphasis on the recent advances in non-conventional energy sources began at the School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), here today. The programme titled `Energy 2004' is being organised by the Electrical Engineering Division, CUSAT, for professionals and teachers of engineering colleges. Inaugurating the programme, R.V.G.
