The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, which appealed against slapping of a whopping Rs 3.19 crore income tax by the department, will now pay only 50 per cent of the amount, a top IIMB source said. The Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) today announced its agreement at the beginning of the process of amending its Memorandum of Association (MOA) to facilitate its expansion of its activities outside India . Briefing journalists after the meeting, Director IIMB G Prakash Apte said the MoA signed in 1973, the Institute was created, not even a clause on the extension of its activities outside the country. The decision of nearly IIMB came on the heels of human resources, Arjun Singh, Minister's assertion that the prestigious B-enterprises can create schools abroad, after changing its MoA.
