The city-based NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering), which is assisted by the Department of Human Resources and Development is entirely funded by the government, its fees in line with the recent government decision, claiming to be on course management affordable to more students.
According to the director, Professor Tapan P. Bagchi, charges for two years-PG Diploma in Industrial Management is to reduce by 30000 to R RS 1 lakh before.
About the decision to invite rather the future of the fee cut, Prof. Bagchi said: “students are now no doubt about the new fee structure.”
Over the decision to reduce the fee was just once assured the government, the Institute would it really means “deficit. This would be around Rs 70000 per person for a class of 120 earlier this year, the Institute plans to increase their intake by 30
The first decision on the reduction of costs, prior to the closing financial year (March 31), it is also possible for the Government to increase the endowment to the Institute when preparing the budget for the new years, he said.
According to Professor Bagchi, the cost of educating each student has been informed of RS 3 lakh per annum. Thus, as the government subsidizes each student to the extent of RS 2 lakh. Thus, the burden R 70000 per student, do not seem very great.
He added that the RS 3 lakh for the education of each student taken into account operating costs of the Faculty include wages, cost of library and laboratory, maintenance and electricity costs, etc.
Any improvement of infrastructure and acquisition of assets such as computers were under the “Capital Fund for the Institute. This course was without resources, he said.
