New Course on the anvil

Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has proposed the creation of seven new centres in future areas of study, rural development and appropriate technology to public order and good governance during 2004-2005.

Cusat’s annual budget has allocated 5 Case crores for new projects.

These centres would be encouraged to internal resources companies, projects and consultancy work for external agencies.

The proposal to school for rural development and appropriate technology, the management center for Tourism Studies, School of International Human Resources Development Centre of Marine Biotechnology, Centre for Space Science Studies, Centre for Human Rights Studies and Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance.

The school of rural development and appropriate technology

The school has a vision: it must contribute to good health and even to leave the rural population, which appreciates the benefits of modern science and technology.

The school has 11 key sectors as part of the vision plan. These include the preservation of natural resources and their use, indigenous technology and intellectual property and technology.

The school is the training of rural people to increase their capacity as custodians of natural resources and traditional technology. Measures taken to the innovative technology to meet the specific needs of the rural population.

It provides for the organization of courses and workshops in the short term, multi-disciplinary units in the areas of methodology for collecting health, sanitation and water supply, food and maintenance of control quality and waste management.

Tourist Office of Management Studies

The center offers a post-graduate study programme in tourism. Cusat counsel studies on the theme “Tourism under the new initiative. A curriculum module and detailed content would be ready after receipt of entries expert on the tourism sector.

International School of Human Resources Development

The school wants to undertake research and studies organization for the implementation of different management companies and corporate development programmes. Music projects and academic cooperation will be developed.

The school is a postgraduate degree or a master’s program with 33 seats in the initial phase.

Number of visitors to the different academic programmes of the school is on the basis of the joint review of the University.
