The convening for the year 2004 graduates of the University of SNMV of art and science took place in the Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College, Malumachampatti. P. Sivasubramanian, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bharathiar was the guest conductor. In his convocation address, Mr Sivasubramanian advise graduates that education was an indispensable components of human resource development. It motivates them to work hard, learn, communicate regularly and effectively.
The Department of MCA, VLB Janakiammal College of Engineering and Technology organized a national symposium at the technical level “Catena’05. It included the presentation of paper, C-debugging, gambling and marketing. Shashidhara Mr. Dongre, AGM, Larsen and Tourbo Info Tech, Bangalore, Ouvrira the symposium. He talked with students about the importance of industry projects and work ethics. More than 200 students from various schools attended the symposium.

The International Institute of Management and Governance (IIMG) is organising a six-day workshop for company directors. The workshop, which began on October 13, will address issues of transparency, accountability, equity, integrity and social and environmental responsibilities of company directors.
Participants at the end of the six-day programme will be given a PG Diploma in Company Directorship. The programme is divided into 12 modules. These include Duties, Responsibilities and Liabilities of Directorship, Board’s Role in Strategic Planning and Managing Innovation among others.

A growing number of business students believe a company's responsibilities extend beyond the boardroom and into the local community, a new study shows.
In a survey of 1,943 MBA students at 15 business schools across the nation, 26 percent said they felt businesses had broad social responsibilities, up from just 15 percent in a similar survey five year ago, according to the Aspen Institute Center for Business Education, a Colo.-based nonprofit group.
Yet, less than half of the students surveyed said they would speak up against employer practices that clashed with their own business ethics. Instead, most said they would likely seek

This year, the Institute of Management Consultants of India award for the best project of the year was the social responsibility of judges began attention.
Four students of the Mumbai-based SP Jain Institute of Management and Research won the award for "Shrishti Project, a project on principles such as management in this sector.
They have been together against management projects by other students to Lehmann Brothers, Standard Chartered Bank, etc.
The project's goal was the turning Shrishti, Bangalore-based NGO involved in the care of mentally challenged children. Shrishti has been besieged with financial assistance from donors and management problems.

5. Orders issued by the Ombudsman for Civic Bodies to install biomedical waste management procedures in hospitals have created confusion among hospital owners and the medical fraternity.
The Indian Medical Association State president PK Mohammed Rasheed says that they are not aware of the procedures developed by the School of Environmental Sciences (SES) at the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
The SES environment consultant T.V. Jacob says that the biomedical waste management procedures developed by the scientists of the School of Environmental Sciences at the Cochin University of Science and Technology is a complete package for biomedical waste treatment.

ZEE Network has announced an in-house reorganisation possibly in the wake of Zee TV President, Ms Apurva Purohit's plan to quit.
The company says the move is aimed at job enrichment and offering higher responsibilities.
Mr Sunil Khanna, CEO, Zee Turner, would take over from Ms Purohit. Mr Khanna has been with the Zee Network for 10 years, occupying various positions, and has a track record in distribution and marketing. Mr Khanna, an engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, is a marketing professional having worked in various marketing positions before joining Zee.
