Organic compounds other than cancer cure or kill germs, tuberculosis can be found in excerpts of the work that Ottelia grows wild in freshwater ponds and canals in all regions of the country. With the help of modern science, for example, nature can not be translated into synthetic drugs.
Dr. Goverdhan Mehta, Director Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, while the provision of the Foundation Day Oration Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) on Saturday, said his laboratory in Bangalore was the study and creation of three different molecules recently.
They have been successful in the synthesis Ottelione A, an anti-cancer and anti-tuberkulöser Properties. Your work in Celafolin A, an extract from the root of the Clastrus orbiculatus, has shown great promise unlike the resistance that cancer cells chemotherapeutischen quickly to acquire drugs.
However, another molecule, Garsubellin A, an extract timber subelliptica Garcia, was synthesized. This molecule has the potential to produce degenerative changes in the brain of a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, a condition in the context of loss of memory and mental function care for the elderly, said Dr Mehta .
Mr. Mehta pointed out that research has been the active substance is no longer just an isolated event Freak, but a continuum. He recalls, as with the discovery of the first antibiotic penicillin in 1940, infections have been conquered. However, new seeds of resistance to penicillin request discovery of new antibiotics: How came the cephalosporins, macrolides (erythromycins), aminoglycosides (gentamicin and amikacin) and glycopeptides (vancomycin).
While most of these links have been created by nature, which recently marketed antibiotic linezolid, which has a very large property anti-bacterial chemical has been fully consolidated. Many of these inventions are in the pipeline.
