The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) recently organised a seminar on the impact of the European Union (EU) enlargement of India in the field of external relations sector. The objective of the seminar was the dissemination of research results by IIFT in this area and to seek input on negotiation strategies for India in the WTO.
Taking floor on the objectives of the study IIFT, president, management development programmes, IIFT, Vijaya Katti said: “The study was to analyse the impact of the enlarged European Union of Indian exports to the European Union, under Article XXIV (6) of GATT, can be invoked in cases where the rates are acceding countries and oversee a negotiating strategy damages the interest in products export to India, where tariffs are likely once emigrated to the accession of the entry into force. ”
