The University of the West Indies perhaps soon certified production Reggae / Dancehall producers and directors of the road.
In a recent conference Reggae Studies Unit on the Mona campus of Jeremy Harding was the guest speaker, two weeks ago, head of reggae Studies Unit Professor Carolyn Cooper, announced that university research in the implementation of a sector in culture and entertainment establishments management company in the near future.
In an interview with The Sunday Gleaner Professor Cooper said recently that the implementation of programmeas soon the next academic year, if everything pans.
“It is still in development stages and will be implemented this year,” she said. “He came the idea of au-Amen, a graduating Master in Cultural Studies. It was his idea that the Reggae Studies Unit.”
