Kelley School of Business simulation, the team wins against competition from other MBA programs

CHICAGO - A team of five köpfiges of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business triumph over rivals four other higher education institutions to win, the BTS University Challenge, the challenge of competing teams MBA in running order a multi billion dollars.

BTS, a world leader in control of simulations and other discovery learning solutions, is organizing the event 11-12 April at the Metropolitan Club in Chicago. In addition, competition has been team of MBA graduates from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, Michigan and Notre Dame. The team won Kelley School $ 2,500.

The simulation pitted five teams in running order after the same companies over a period of three years multi-time. All teams had to compensate for revenue growth, penetration and the satisfaction of stakeholders, the winning team with the most Return on Assets, Operating profit, cash flow combined product pipeline and the end of the contest .

“These students, who in a very good experience, the more intense than most simulations in business schools offer,” said CEO Steve Toomey BTS Chicago. “Congratulations to the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and to all competing teams representing their schools, by displaying exceptional talent, passion and professionalism. The competing teams were so close that it is someone to win in the last lap. ”

James M. elections, president of Kelley MBA program, noted the challenges her students to the competition.

“We are very proud of all our students, but we are particularly proud of this group, because they represent the MBA program at the Kelley School and the University of Indiana, exceptionally well,” said elections. “Elle won a very tough competition against teams from several of the best MBA programs in the USA deserved this victory by the application of things, an example of Kelley - extensive knowledge of entrepreneurial skills, excellent teamwork and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hard. ”

“The competition was intense, but we had the good fortune of a great team, was really the situation, despite the pressure of the situation,” said Shib Pramanik, a member of the Kelley School team. “The BTS University Challenge is not a normal case of competition, it was an implementation strategy and change, given that the market movements. Strategy, operations, finance, economy and Marketing met in this competition. Truly an awesome experience. ”

Hirak H Patel, a member of the winning team Kelley School, said competition on the basis of simulations business was very different from that of a traditional event of the competition.

“This reflects the fact that a case, the traditional competition requires participants, recommendations are based on a study conducted by a company or a branch in a static mode. Simulation cases of competition requires an understanding of society and industry in a continuous manner, as it evolved over time, “Patel said.” The result is not only a team strategy and tactical implementation, but also on a page direct competitors, strategy and tactics implemented in a development marketing.

Fortune Small Business magazine reports that both the undergraduate and MBA programs offered by Indiana Universitys Kelley School of Business are among the top programs nationally for aspiring entrepreneurs.
