Kolkata, Jan. 20: The London School of Economics (LSE) is the preparation of masters with Indian universities, the director Howard Davies, said today. Davies also said LSE strengthens its financial support for students from developing countries like India. ”The students who are studying at LSE easily find jobs and money to pay off in the shortest possible time. Similarly, we are working on the development of links with several academic institutions in India, like the Delhi School of Economics, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Presidency College, St. Stephen’s College, College and the Jawaharlal Nehru University of Mumbai,’’said Davies.
The most popular courses in the context of India, he added, it is the Masters of Public Administration (MPA), and a “media curriculum, which may lead to a tie-up with a Indian University.

3 Asian Universities to Begin Joint MBA Course
Three Asian universities will operate a joint MBA course to better train business and economic experts in Asian regions.
Korea University said Friday that it recently reached an agreement with the National University of Singapore (NUS) in Singapore and the Fudan University in China to jointly offer the program.
The program is designed to catch up with American and European counterparts through an Asian-style MBA program launched by Asian universities, which comparatively lag behind.
It is the first program of its kind where a joint MBA program in association with other overseas universities

XLRI signs MoU with Chicago-based varsity
XLRI on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Loyola University of Chicago. The MoU envisages exchange of students and faculty between the two institutions. It will pave the way for joint research and a joint degree programme as well.
The two-year post graduate degree in business administration (human resources) will be awarded by the University of Chicago.
Fr N Casamir Raj, director of XLRI, told FE that a curriculum for the joint degree programme would be in place soon, and added that he was interested in the tie up as the Loyola School
A joint venture in India has been established recently to the implementation of a city gas project in Calcutta, India. The project partners from business and their respective shareholdings contain GAIL (INDIA - 22.5%) and INDIAN OIL CORP. (IOC - 22.5%). BANGALORE: To boost entrepreneurship and introduce modern management practices in family-run businesses, the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore and Universitas 21 Global, the online graduate school, signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday.
The N S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning of IIM-B and the online school will introduce a joint certificate programme on Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise in the second half of 2006.
Universitas 21 Global chief academic officer Michael Goldberg told The Times of India: "This joint post-graduate programme is especially for start-up and family-run businesses that require modern management skills to compete with professionally run enterprises.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has announced the renewal of its association with the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, India for five more years.
ISB is a one-of-a-kind institution created in June 2001 with support from 50 of the worlds top corporations and two U.S.-based business schools - Wharton and Northwestern Universitys Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
The initial success of this association between Wharton and ISB prompted its renewal as well as the launch of an ISB-Wharton Joint Research Initiative that will encourage joint research between Wharton and ISB faculty, including curriculum development.

India and Israel will set up a joint R&D fund to encourage new investors and joint industrial ventures, officials said.
The joint fund that will provide risk free grants to entrepreneurs from both sides, will be established this week during the visit of Minister of Science and Technology Kapil Sibal, officials said.
