WORKING WOUNDED: Is an Online MBA Worth it?

Your email reminded me of my mom, who always spoke her mind. For example, when she felt that her daughter-in-law was too into designer clothing, she told a friend that her grandchilds first word was Visa.

My mom couldnt pass on a putdown and didnt believe in wasting money on designer clothing. These days, I feel the same way about brand-name MBA programs. Sure, Harvard and Stanford have cachet, but Im not sure outside of those two whether it really matters. Ive listed some questions to ask, below. What do you hope to get out of the program? You wouldnt get a root canal just for the heck of it. Yet, many people sign up for MBA programs before they ask themselves some really hard questions about where their career is headed. I am not surprised that the University of Houston is having enrollment problems, because it is not keeping up with the times. The world of higher education has changed dramatically over the last few years with the proliferation of online colleges and universities. Students seeking a master's degree in library science from Wayne State University can earn one while sitting in front of their home computers, starting this fall.
