BHUBANESWAR, July 30 - The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), today instituted three gold medals for excellence to be awarded every year to the students of Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) who merit the top lists in different disciplines.
One gold medal will be awarded to the student topping the list among the merit SC / ST candidates for the management Rural while another gold medal will be presented to the girl students topping the list of the institute merit. The third gold medal will go to topper among the SC / ST students in HR Management.
If no SC / ST candidates are there, the medal will be given to the girl student in the above category, said the organizers.
Mr KK Sinha, NTPC’s director (HR), handed over a cheque of Rs 3 lakh e to Father Abraham, director, XIMB today and addressed the students. Mr S Kumar, general manager (HR), ie spoke on the occasion. — SNS

CHENNAI: The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited received the Mother Teresa Award for 2006 from former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam at a function held at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) on Friday.
Dr. Abdul Kalam also inaugurated the Loyola Centre for Entrepreneurship on the occasion.
The Mother Teresa Award, established by LIBA in 1998, is given in recognition of achievements in the areas of ethical governance.

Last weekend members of the Goole Tang Soo Do martial arts club took part in the National Tang Soo Do Championships held in Manchester.
