Course to start in Punjab, end in Canada
University Business School (UBS) is planning to introduce new courses in its MBA programme. The courses will be in the areas of capital markets and wealth management and designed keeping in view the growing demand for professionals in this segment after the unprecedented rise in the stock markets.
The courses are slated to begin next year and will include MBAs in wealth management, risk management, among others. Currently, it is also talking to a Canadian University, Simon Fraser, for a tie-up on technical assistance in developing the course structure, faculty exchange, etc.
The two-year degree may also have an option of studying the second year of the course in Canada. UBS is ranked among the top B schools in India and is running MBAs in finance, HR and marketing.

Vinayaka Mission Research Foundation, a Salem-based deemed university, will start a two-year twin programme in MBA -- combining graduation and post-graduation course -- in partnership with Centennial College, Toronto, Canada.
The MBA international programme enables students to study their first year in India and the second year in Canada, S Vasudevan, vice-principal of the university, told reporters here today.
If the students opt to study in India itself, it can also be done, he said.
The students will be awarded an MBA degree by the university and graduation certificate by the Centennial College.

MBA students likelier to cheat
MBA students in Canada and the United States are more likely to cheat than students in other disciplines because they believe it is how the business world operates — and because they believe their peers cheat, according to a new study.
The study found that 56 per cent of graduate business students admitted to cheating in the last year, compared with 47 per cent of non-business students. More than 5,000 MBA students from 11 graduate business schools in Canada and 21 schools in the U.S. took part.
