KOLKATA: Theater can teach what textbooks can not. This is the conclusion of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
The first B-school has invited one of the best known of the city, theatre groups, Nandikar, their students to teach a few basic lessons of management. The first of this type of interaction took place in the final weeks of the end.
Nandikar, led by thespian Rudraprasad Sengupta, was attended by students of modules that are not only finding new prospects for the problems of the classroom, but also go beyond, the principles of modern management and rhythms of ‘human interaction.
Students have been replaced by a number of games, the challenge to situations similar to those faced by the company’s directors. They learned to respond positively in a way to explore creative solutions.
The situation looked at the conflict and negotiation, power and politics, ethics and economics, effective communication, organizational behavior, subjects that are part of the IIM-C curriculum and students, as the theories of Freud and Erickson.
“With dance, theatre, games and activities that we have learnt more about the same things, because we have a practice of printing these things,” said Palash Jain, a student.

TCUs MBA students learn by doing job

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, has implemented its programme of DirecWay in association with Hughes Escorts, flagging off its satellite-based executive education.
Classes will be held at a studio in the classroom Institute. Students attend the classes may either in the classroom or log on from any of the interactive 36 centres across India.
However it will not offer full-fledged Executive Masters in Business Administration programme on the satellite platform.

Distance-Learning Program To Have Its First Out-Of-State Classroom
After 36 years of offering business degrees via distance learning in South Carolina, USCs professional Master of Business Administration program is blazing new ground across the state line.
