The UNC Charlotte Masters in Business Administration program is partnering with the National Black MBA Association and The Princeton Review to offer scholarships for Graduate Management Aptitude Test preparation courses.The scholarship program began last fall and is aimed at helping candidates whose backgrounds are traditionally underrepresented in MBA programs.
According to The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, the organization that accredits business schools, only about 5.3 percent of U.S. MBA students are African American. Hispanic Americans represent about 5.2 percent of the MBA student population, while less than 1 percent is Native American.
The scholarships, valued as high as $1,250, will cover GMAT preparation courses offered at The Princeton Review’s centers in uptown and the Arboretum area. Course schedules are available at www.princetonreview.com.
Students who wish to apply for the scholarships must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher. They also must apply for admission to the UNCC MBA program before they apply for the scholarship.

Mobile GMAT Testing Center on the Natchez Campus
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has launched a pilot program whereby a GMAT bus will visit 49 cities over a seven-month period to provide mobile sites for students to take the GMAT. The GMAT bus will be on the Natchez Campus on January 13 and 17, 2007.
