With three more foreign universities entering into a partnership with the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) for student exchange program this year, experts at IIM-L feel that the institute has achieved a new height.
The programme that began with just three French universities in 2001, now has collaboration with 22 foreign universities. Around 60 IIM-L students, who will be visiting foreign universities for a period of three months from September, have been trained to observe and record the difference in the education system of their own country and that of the foreign country.
Prof Devashish Das Gupta, Chairman of the Financial Aid and International Linkages at the IIM-L said, “Today we have around 60 outgoing students and 30 incoming students for the students exchange programme. Even the number of universities has increased to 22.

The University of Pondicherry offers two new courses for the next academic year as part of its innovative program to "promote education and research in interdisciplinary areas and emerging countries."

XLRI signs MoU with Chicago-based varsity
XLRI on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Loyola University of Chicago. The MoU envisages exchange of students and faculty between the two institutions. It will pave the way for joint research and a joint degree programme as well.
The two-year post graduate degree in business administration (human resources) will be awarded by the University of Chicago.

KOCHI, JAN. 17 The Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) appointed a subcommittee today the possibility of Varsity resume its status as examination centre of the Commission on Graduates of business Nursing Schools (CGFNS). The decision was taken on the syndication Varsity meeting here.

PUDUCHERRY: The Pondicherry University will start a number of new courses under the 11th Plan, its Vice-Chancellor Jalees A.K. Tareen said on Wednesday.
This includes a School of engineering, a School of medical sciences that would offer paramedical courses, a School of education, a School of law and a School of foreign languages, Mr. Tareen said.
Addressing presspersons here after his first press conference as Vice-Chancellor of the University, Mr. Tareen said it also planned to start other courses including MSc Speech and hearing training, food and nutrition, social work, industrial applied psychology and MBA in health sciences.
