The University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management is expanding further into the Phoenix area.
The college is introducing its 18-month master’s degree at its 9,000-square-foot campus in Scottsdale for those with at least three years of experience The campus opens next month.
Applications for the spring semester are due by Nov. 1. Priority will be given to those who apply by Oct. 1.

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has given approval to American Public University System (APUS) to enhance its associate degree programs. One Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, with multiple concentrations, has now been changed to several stand alone associate degrees in those fields. With HLC's approval of these changes, APUS may now award Federal Student Aid (FSA) funding under Title IV to students enrolled in the stand alone associate degree programs.
"These changes give more choices to APUS students," said Dr. Frank McCluskey, provost and executive vice president for APUS.

The new contributions of $100,000 each for the University of Alabama, Huntsville and Georgia Institute of Technology cover 12-month research activities, with options for additional year-long grants of the same amount based on study work achievements. Most recently, he was group president for the U.S. branch-based business, but hes also served as president of the parts business, chief information officer, and president of the companys Internet business.
Ryan has a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Miami University of Ohio and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.

Raj Soin College of Business' Master of Business Administration (MBA) Weekend Program is expanding MBA offerings off-campus in the fall to become more aggressive in recruiting students for graduate programs.
The new Mason MBA Weekend Program will begin a cohort September 12 and 13 through a partnership with Sinclair Community College, who built the campus in Warren County.
These types of programs make obtaining a master's degree more accessible to those working in industry, said Robert Premus, Ph.D., Professor of Economics and Coordinator of South Dayton Programs.

The government wants to see all academies sponsored by a university and a business partner under new plans set out today by the children, schools and families minister Ed Balls.
In a statement to the Commons, Mr Balls said the governments academy programme would be accelerated, with universities spearheading the next wave. He said he hoped that all universities would eventually become involved.
Universities, high performing colleges and schools will now be exempt from providing the minimum £2m sponsorship, as the programme expands to beyond the original 200 academies by 2010 to 400.

In the fall 2007 semester, the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at GSU will begin offering a Masters of Business Administration specialization in Hotel Real Estate. GSU said the degree is likely the first of its kind offered in an MBA curriculum in the nation.
The MBA degree including the Hotel Real Estate specialization will require less than 60 credit hours of coursework. Full-time students can expect to complete the degree in 18 to 24 months. Part-time students typically will earn the degree in three to five years.
