XLRI to make GMP second flagship course

XLRIs one-year general management programme (GMP) is on way to become a second flagship course for the B-School.

We are further restructuring the programme by making the courses more appropriate and contemporary by introducing a complement of international exposure by which our GMP participants would truly become global executives, said Prof Pranovesh Ray, chairperson of XLRIs GMP, at the convocation held here on Sunday evening which saw its sixth batch of 55 GMP students graduate.

XLRIs two-year business management (BM) and personnel management & industrial relations (PM&IR) courses are already very popular in the country.

XLRI For Stricter Test Post-Cat Paper Leak

Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, is planning to make its admission test, Xavier Admission Test, foolproof following the recent leakage of question papers of Common Admission Test (CAT). XAT is scheduled for 4 Jan 2004. XLRI, rated among the top five B-schools in the country, conducts XAT for admissions to reputed B-schools including XLRI, Xavier Institute of Management and Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies.

XLRI, Hughes In Pact For Online Management Course

Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) has entered into a partnership with Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd to launch an education programme on business management through broadband satellite connection. Hughes Escorts is a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems of the US. Hughes Escorts is setting up a studio in XLRI campus at Jamshedpur at a cost of Rs3 crore. XLRI intends to conduct the course live in 14 cities across India from Sep 2002. The 14-month, 360-hours course is expected to cost Rs1.50 lakh per student.
