Six students of MBA first semester and three students of MBA third semester of Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Gujarkhan campus, have bagged merit positions in Punjab Technical University examinations.
As per the merit list released by PTU, these exams were held in December 2006. Megha Jain of MBA first semester has topped the university with 90.25 % marks. Jaspreet Kaur bagged the second position with 89.12 %, and Chanpreet Kaur bagged the third position with 88.87 % marks.
Swati Mehta bagged the fifth position with 87.5% marks, Preeti Kalsi bagged the seventh position with 87.25 % marks, and Sumisha bagged the ninth position with 86.62 % marks.

City student Parul Munjal, a fourth semester student of MBA (Finance) at Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, has topped the merit list of the result declared by Punjab Technical University. Parul has scored the highest percentage of 90.6 per cent in the final semester.

BHUBANESWAR, July 30 - The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), today instituted three gold medals for excellence to be awarded every year to the students of Xavier's Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) who merit the top lists in different disciplines.
One gold medal will be awarded to the student topping the list among the merit SC / ST candidates for the management Rural while another gold medal will be presented to the girl students topping the list of the institute merit. The third gold medal will go to topper among the SC / ST students in HR Management.

Calcutta: Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, decided to publish the list of salaries on 1 May, Thursday. Candidates for the CBO are interviewed in the category on May 15 and their names would be published within two to three days. This year, 318 is the number of seats projected for 2008-10 batch of PGDBM.
Earlier, IIM-C has been earmarked for the publication of the list on 11 April. But the Supreme Court for reducing the backlog of results by more than three weeks. Classes of IIM-C begins on June 23 and students are required for admission on 19 May.

In a remarkable achievement, OBC students of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore have scored only two percentage points below general category students in the final shortlist for 2006.
This achievement has proved that merit doesn't strive on reservation and reservation cannot mitigate merit.
When the percentile scores of candidates short listed for the group discussion and interview stages, in the average Combined Admission Test, the OBCs secured 97.73 below the general category's 99.14. On the other hand candidates from the SC/ST segment got 89.04 and 81.46 respectively.

PGCET Cell releases list for MBA admission
The PGCET cell has announced a list of candidates who applied for admission to MBA programme offered by university departments/constituent colleges/affiliated colleges of Bangalore, Mangalore, Gulbarga, Tumkur, Kuvempu, Mysore, Karnataka, VTU and Karnataka state women universities.
Totally, 9,783 Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates wrote the test and 9,654 ranks were declared. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam on July 1.
During seat selection, only after the academic eligibility is confirmed will a candidate be allowed seat selection.
