Pepperdine Business School Inaugurates New Executive Director of Corporate Relations Office
Kim A. Weiss has accepted the newly-created position of executive director, Recruitment and Corporate Relations, for the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.
Reporting to Michael Sims, Executive Officer, Corporate & External Relations for the Graziadio School, Weiss will lead the business schools strategic plan for attracting and retaining quality candidates into its educational programs, which offer bachelors and masters degrees for full- time recipients and the fully-employed at all career levels. In this first- time leadership role for the school she will partner with corporations and key business trade groups and increase MBA and Bachelor Completion-program focus on major corporations in California that have substantial tuition reimbursement policies.
Kim Weiss will guide customer-focused business initiatives with emphasis on driving student enrollment globally for MBA and Bachelor degree completion programs, said Linda A. Livingstone, dean of the Graziadio School. Additionally, she will be responsible for co-branded initiatives, corporate partnerships, on-site degree program recruitment and recruitment of specialized programs such as our highly regarded Morning MBA.

MBA, law suffer loss in ranking
Pepperdines School of Law fell 10 places in U.S. News and World Reports rankings for accredited law schools nationwide, but School of Law officials are attributing losing ground to a change in the reports methods for evaluation.
Pepperdine School of Law is now ranked 87th overall, down from 77th last year.
The school was ranked against 180 other accredited law schools. Accreditation is earned through the American Bar Association.
Positive changes in subcategories were also recorded for Pepperdine School of Law, and the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution is ranked first in the country, ahead of Harvard

Columbia Business School announced today it has renamed its Office of MBA Career Services to the Career Management Center (CMC). Senior executives give MBA courses mixed review
U.S. executives are generally positive about the way business schools prepare MBA graduates for the real world, according to a new survey -- but the approval is some way short of a grade A.
Overall, 69% of business executives felt MBA courses did a good job educating students to succeed in corporate life, said the study carried out for Graziadio School of Business and Management, part of Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
However, only 7% rated the business schools job as excellent, and 21% marked them down as only fair.

Glenn Hubbard, Dean and Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia Business School, has announced the appointment of Kelley Blanco as Assistant Dean for Executive MBA Programs at the School, effective March 12, 2007. Ms. Blanco moves into her new role from the Schools department of External Relations and Development, where she served most recently as Director of Development. The offices and classroom of Colorado State Universitys Executive MBA Program have moved to a new location.
The Executive MBA Program, previously located on the second floor of the Chamber of Commerce Building in Lower Downtown, has moved to the 24th floor of 410 17th St. in downtown Denver. The Executive MBA Program now will reside in a single building with the universitys Division of Continuing Education as well as the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System.
