(March 14, 2006) - Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship hosted the sixth installation of the business plan competition Rice (RBPC), the world's largest in the world. The 2006 competition is one of the best business meetings in Houston. RBPC recently announced, semi-finalists, who are competing for more than $ 260000 and prices.

The contest was organized by TA-based Manipal Pai Management Institute December 3 to December 5. Nandi was 12 participants from B up schools in the country, attended the competition. The contract is awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. This is the second consecutive year that the award was won by an XLRI student. Last year, Deewakar Loshali, a business management student, won the prize.

Marketing Students Advance to Final Round in National Cadillac Marketing Plan Competition
A team of MBA students from the Anderson Schools of Management (ASM) has advanced to the final round in the 2006 Cadillac Case Study Competition. The team is one of two finalists who will present their case studies to a panel of Cadillac executives on May 25 in the annual competition held each year in Detroit, Mich.
The ASM includes students Pedro Bonano, Logan Hall, Denisse Olivas, Melissa Valles, Patricia Plichta, and Joseph Weiss. The team is mentored by lecturer John Benavidez and Assistant Professor Catherine Roster.

Bio-Diesel Fuel wins Intel Capital Sponsored Event
An alternative energy company called Aurora BioFuels has won the $25,000 first prize at the eighth annual UC Berkeley Business Plan Competition at the University of California, Berkeleys Haas School of Business.
Aurora BioFuels presented a plan showing how to create bio-diesel fuel with yields 125 times higher than existing bio-diesel conversion technologies, and at half the cost.
The company also won the Peoples Choice Award of $5,000 for garnering the most votes from the audience at the final awards ceremony on April 27.

The first big budget event on Indian Business School campuses is going places. Literally so. The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has tied up with Yale University for i2i (ideas to implementation), IIM Cs international business plan competition. The institute is also planning to tie up with a European partner and is in the final stages of negotiation with three business schools in Europe, including the London Business School and Rotterdam School of Management.
