CSU Stanislaus to start executive MBA program at Tracy
California State University, Stanislaus says it will offer an executive Master of Business Administration degree program in Tracy starting in August.
The 15-month, 36-unit program will offer an aggregate of courses. Classes will be held on Saturdays in the downtown Tracy Fire Administration Building training facility.
CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani says surveys done by the university have indicated there is a high demand for such a program in San Joaquin County.

Business managers and executives interested in education tailored to their needs and busy schedules may opt for a new master's program planned for Stockton by California State University, Stanislaus.
After receiving a strong response to its executive MBA program in Tracy launched earlier this year, the CSUS College of Business Administration will offer a second 15-month program beginning in April, said Dr. Nael Aly, college dean.
While the program has yet to be formally marketed (a kick-off meeting is planned today), Aly already has interviewed one candidate and received two or three other applications for the 25 to 30 available slots.

California State University, Stanislaus, Professor Rao Cherukuri has been selected to teach as a Fulbright Scholar this year at one of India's most prestigious universities.
A member of the Stanislaus State finance department, Cherukuri will be a lecturer at the Indian Institute of Technology in the southern city of Chennai. The college offers degrees in 15 disciplines in engineering, sciences, humanities and management.

The body of a Brigham Young University student missing for more than a week was found in a canyon Sunday, the authorities said, and investigators were trying to determine how she fell to her death.
The body of the woman, Camille Cleverley, 22, was found at the base of a 200-foot cliff east of Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, said Sheriff James O. Tracy of Utah County.
Mr. Cleverley’s father, Joel, identified her at the scene, Sheriff Tracy said, and it appeared that she had been dead for several days.

IMDs start up competition

The first class of the Fayetteville's campus Executive Master of Business Administration program visited Arkansas this week for orientation. But most of the projects and work will be done in Shanghai, China.
The 13 students of the first class are all in upper-level management at U.S. companies in China. Those companies, which include Wal-Mart, Dillard's, Kimberly-Clark and Proctor & Gamble, all nominated students for the executive MBA program.
UA professor Matt Waller said the executive MBA program isn't all about China. It's about multinational companies doing retail and consumer goods business on a global scale.
