Q: Before you entered business schools, when you were in college or undergraduates, were you really interested in the Budget and has it changed once you have become management students?
Gayatri Lone: Budget is something, which we have been always been interested in and wanted to know because it impacts everybody to a great extent. But, now the understanding of the Budget among people is lot more, as earlier it was more on the personal level.

HC stays TN Govt order on MBA/MCA seats in minority colleges
The Madras High Court has stayed a Tamil Nadu Government order apportioning MBA/MCA seats in aided minority colleges in the ratio of 50:50 for government and management.
Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar of the Madurai Bench of the court passed the interim order while admitting a writ petition filed by the city-based American College and Fathima College challenging the recent order.
The Judge also issued notices to the Higher Education Secretary and other educational authorities.
The colleges contended that they had been offering the MBA/MCA courses under the self-financing category

Mumbai-based banker Uday Kotak is now eyeing a role in the training field with plans to establish a foundation for the promotion of education for the under-privileged children.
Mr. Kotak initiative is led by its aid Shivaji Dam, which was for the establishment of group life insurance arm, and is currently a member of the Board of Kotak Mahindra Bank. Sources said to be talks with several NGOs for possible partnerships. While the size of the corpus is not known, it is supposed to be RS 10 crore.
