Description: PhD (International Business) (Part Time) Programme 2007 (IIFT invites applications from post graduates of any discipline for admission to Part Time PhD programme in International Business at Delhi and Kolkata campuses. Specific areas offered are Marketing, Business Strategy, Finance, WTO Issues and Logistics & Trade Operations. The programme is available on part time basis. The programme consists of two phases: Post Graduate Studies or the Course work of 12-16 months duration; and Thesis-Writing (to be completed within 4 years of completion of course work)

Fee: The Programme fee is Rs. 15,000/- per annum. For SC/ST and PH candidates, a fee concession to the extent of 50% is applicable. Foreign students will pay a fee of US $ 1000 per annum.

· Application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST and PH Candidates; US $ 50 for foreign students) in the form of bank draft drawn in favour of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE payable at NEW DELHI.

Process of Admission: The Research Committee will review academic performance of applicants including scholarly research or professional writing; the applicant’s statement of purpose and letters of reference usually from academics familiar with the applicant’s scholastic and research capabilities. The Committee, on this basis, will shortlist candidates for viva/ presentation at IIFT Campus in New Delhi.

Short-listed candidates will send their research synopsis to the Institute by end of May 2007 and present it in second week of June at IIFT Delhi/ Kolkata Campus.

Completed application form along with the required enclosures must reach the Institute at the following address by 30th March 2007. On receipt of the applications, a copy of the PhD brochure will be sent to the candidates.

NID in the city soon inaugurated IIFT campus.

The center is to facilitate, a campus of the National Institute of Design (NID) in the metropolis in the near future, Commerce Kamal Nath said the Prime Minister today. Opening of the new campus of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Salt Lake is the first outside Delhi, Nath said the inauguration of NID perhaps not far away. IIFT to set up campus in city this July

KOLKATA: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), the country's foremost school specialising in the subject, will set up a campus in the city this July. IIFT is initially looking for rented space to start classes. It plans to move to its own campus by end-2006 or early next year. Around 60 students are expected to be given admission on the Kolkata campus. The Delhi campus takes in 100 students per year. IIFT will conduct group discussions and interviews for admission in the city from January 30 to February 2.

IIFT to make operational the centre of Kolkata this year.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata its new operational centre of this academic year SMEs and the creation of a training centre for small and medium enterprises. The IIFT, with their annual convocation on 5 April placement had a good season with the whole lot of jobs that the first day.
