The admissions process for the third batch of IIM-As Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) is now complete.
IIM-A received 1352 applications this year, which is an increase of about 60% over the previous year. IIM-A is targeting a batch size of 80 with one section.
The average GMAT score for the entering batch of 2008 is a high 731. This is amongst the highest in the world. For instance, the entering class of 2006 at Harvard Business School had an average GMAT score of 707, and Wharton had an average GMAT score of 713.

One of the most significant trends sweeping the Indian management education domain is the significant importance being attached to prior work-experience of MBA candidates.
Overwhelming percentage of students at IIMs and other top-schools are candidates with some prior work experience.
In the fresh data shared by IIM-L with MBAUniverse.com, a whopping 89% of candidates admitted to the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) have some prior work experience. Significantly, just a year ago, only 50% of the batch admitted to PGP 2007-2009 were candidates with work-experience.

KOLKATA: There is some good news for IIM candidate. Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, decided on the number of seats by 15% - from 262 to 300 at present - the beginning of 2006, with the scientific meeting.
This is part of the preparation of its plan to increase the capacity by more than 53% from 2008-09. The decision of the IIM-C in the last month Faculty has been included in the annual report of the meeting on Saturday.
