Columbia Business School Names Kelley Blanco Assistant Dean for Executive MBA Programs
Glenn Hubbard, Dean and Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia Business School, has announced the appointment of Kelley Blanco as Assistant Dean for Executive MBA Programs at the School, effective March 12, 2007. Ms. Blanco moves into her new role from the Schools department of External Relations and Development, where she served most recently as Director of Development. She will report to Ethan Hanabury, Associate Dean of Executive MBA Programs at Columbia Business School.

Kelley has been a tremendous asset to Columbia Business School during her 9 years of service with our External Relations and Development team, said Mr. Hanabury. As Director of Development, she has demonstrated strong leadership abilities in her oversight of numerous successful development campaigns. Ms. Blanco will assume responsibility for academic planning and faculty staffing, financial services, and operations of all EMBA programs. She will also work with academic issues, policies and services relating to EMBA students.

Fortune Small Business magazine reports that both the undergraduate and MBA programs offered by Indiana Universitys Kelley School of Business are among the top programs nationally for aspiring entrepreneurs.
While Fortune Small Business did not rank the programs, Kelley was one of two schools that were singled out in presentations of the top four MBA and top five undergraduate programs in the magazines September issue. The report also is featured at CNNMoney.com.
The magazine based its findings on interviews with hundreds of entrepreneurs, professors, students, alumni, university administrators and venture capitalists.

Columbia Business School announced the appointment of Francine Lynch as Director of the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management (INM), an arm of the Schools Executive Education division. Ms. Lynchs responsibilities include audience development, funder relationships, and setting the strategic direction for current and future INM programs. Ms. Gydes responsibilities include determining client strategy and approach as well as marketing and communications, both print and online. Merrill Jay Forgotson, a lawyer and noted banking executive in Connecticut, is the new dean of the University of Bridgeports School of Business.
The appointment was announced by UBs President, Neil Albert Salonen, who said the new dean will connect with the business community, affirming UBs position as one of the leading business schools in the state.
Forgotson succeeds Dr. Glenn Basset, a professor and former dean and General Electric executive, who guided the school through the process of re-accreditation by the Association of College Business Schools
Indiana University's Kelley School of Business is the fifth most favorite regional program among corporate recruiters surveyed by the Wall Street Journal and Harris Interactive.
The Kelley School -- which ranks second among public programs -- jumped 10 places in the newspaper's seventh annual survey of regional schools from 15th a year ago and made the strongest improvement of any Big Ten school in all of the rankings and most other schools rated by the newspaper.
