MBA students to benefit from scholarships
The Urban Land Institutes (ULI) Arizona District Council has awarded scholarships to two W. P. Carey School of Business graduate students in the schools full-time MBA real estate specialization program. The two $2,000 awards are part of a new ULI real estate scholarship program for students at the W. P. Carey School and at ASUs College of Design.
This is the first year that ULI Arizona has awarded scholarships, according to Steve Gervais, chair of the ULI Arizona Scholarship Committee. Gervais said the institute created the scholarships to encourage top academic performers to pursue careers in real estate development.
Coury Mascagni, of Louisville, Ky., and Robert Rosing of San Diego are recipients of the inaugural awards for the MBA real estate specialization program.

More than 150 scholarships totaling a near $1.5 million were awarded to 73 Brighton High School seniors during the Senior Breakfast and Awards program May 24 at the high school.
The list includes a United States Merchant Marine Academy Appointment for Aaron Baldwin, several state college and university scholarships, athletic scholarships, music scholarships, and several awarded locally by businesses, service clubs, families and public service organizations.

Man behind scholarships says university broke promise to veterans
The University of Illinois last year offered up to 110 scholarships to veterans and members of the military interested in a masters of business administration degree. Each is worth $74,000.
THE DISAGREEMENT: Robert Van Der Hooning, who set up the program, says it was intended for the schools Chicago-based executive MBA program, with all scholarships available in 2006. The university says the scholarships were for any of the schools three MBA programs and werent intended to be awarded in a single year.
