Testing facilities are being extended through 4 Regional Testing Centres at Calcutta, Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi and Field Testing Stations for raw materials, semi finished products and the end products primarily manufactured in the small scale sector. These centres have been equipped with the basic testing facilities in the disciplines of chemical, mechanical, electrical, metallurgy and metrology. These Testing Centres besides rendering facilities, assist in quality upgradation aspects and provide training in testing and quality control besides consultancy in testing and quality management and in process quality control systems.
The TOEFL test is developed and administered by the US-based “Educational Testing Service” (ETS). This implies that ETS sets the questions, conducts the test, and sends each examinee the score report.
For the conduct of the test, ETS has appointed Testing Agencies in various countries, which act as franchisee for ETS. In India, this agency is the “Prometric Testing Services Pvt Ltd” which administers the test at 9 centres in the country: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Trivandrum.

ETS announces alterations to GRE testing format to take effect in fall
The Educational Testing Service is making multiple changes to the Graduate Record Examinations, a standardized test required for admission to many graduate schools. ETS recently announced that these changes will go into effect in September, after being scheduled to take effect in October of last year, according to an ETS press release.
We are introducing a number of changes into the context and the administrations of the test, as well as to the score scales, said Dawn Piacentino, the associate director in the GRE program at ETS.

Maveric Systems, the Chennai-based independent software testing company, has announced its academic partnership with Loyola Institute of Business Administration for a two-year executive MBA in banking and software testing.

Mobile GMAT Testing Center on the Natchez Campus
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has launched a pilot program whereby a GMAT bus will visit 49 cities over a seven-month period to provide mobile sites for students to take the GMAT. The GMAT bus will be on the Natchez Campus on January 13 and 17, 2007.
