Rosa Oppenheim Appointed Acting Dean of Rutgers Business School
Provost Steven J. Diner has announced the appointment of Rosa Oppenheim, PhD, as acting dean of Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick (RBS), effective June 14, 2006. Howard Tuckman, who served as RBS dean for a number of years, is moving to the Graduate School of Business Administration at Fordham University.
Rosa Oppenheim has provided outstanding leadership as associate dean of RBS for many years, and as acting dean in 1998, noted Provost Diner. President McCormick and I are deeply grateful for her willingness to assume the leadership of RBS during this interim period.
Rosa Oppenheim has been a member of the faculty of RBS since 1973. She is currently professor of management science and information systems, and has been associate dean for faculty and research since 2002. Previously, she served as associate dean for academic programs (1993-2002), and as director of the Teaching Excellence Center at Rutgers-Newark (1992-1993). She served as acting dean at RBS in 1998.
Oppenheim is a co-author of Quality Management (McGraw-Hill), now in its third edition, and of Stat City: Understanding Statistics Through Realistic Applications (Richard D. Irwin), and has authored journal articles on total quality management, time series analysis and forecasting, the mathematical analysis of literary style and integer programming. She has provided executive training for many corporations and has won numerous teaching awards.

Rutgers Business School Announces New Full-Time M.B.A. Curriculum Offering Greater Choice, Depth of Study
The faculty of Rutgers Business School–Newark and New Brunswick (RBS) has approved a new curriculum for its full-time M.B.A. program. The new curriculum, which will be implemented this fall, addresses the career development needs of students as well as the expectations of employers, and leverages the intellectual authority of the faculty. RBS is currently accepting applications for enrollment in the fall 2007 semester of its M.B.A. program.

Subra Suresh, an IIT Chennai alumnus, has been appointed dean of the prestigious engineering school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Currently the Ford Professor of Engineering in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Suresh will succeed Institute Professor Thomas Magnanti as the next dean of the School of Engineering July 23.
An MIT announcement Thursday noted that its School of Engineering has long held a unique national and international position of pre-eminence in both education and research.

UNC names associate dean of MBA program
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Tuesday appointed David Hofmann as the next associate dean for the MBA program at the universitys Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Morgan, currently a professor of organizational behavior and strategy at the UNC school, will replace Valarie Zeithaml effective July 1.
Zeithaml served as senior associate dean for academic affairs and marketing area chair at Kenan-Flagler before serving as the head of the MBA program for four years.

Ale College Dean Peter Salovey has announced the appointments of the Dean of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean and Director of the Native American Cultural Center, and Deans of Branford, Calhoun and Morse residential colleges. The deans of the residential colleges were appointed in consultation with the masters of those colleges.
W. Marichal Gentry has been named Dean of Student Affairs and Associate Dean of Yale College.

Kolkata, February 9 (PTI) The Dean of Westminster Abbey, United Kingdom, Dr. Wesley Carr Wednesday paid tribute to Mother Teresa in the house of the mother in this eastern Indian metropolis and interaction with children orphans the Children's Home, through the Missionaries of Charity.

It has confirmed the departure of the dean of its business school, Prof Christopher Earley, less than two years into his three-year term.
