Enrollment in online courses through Kaplan University has surpassed 27,000 students, making it the largest university in Iowa. While online education appeals to men and women, nearly three-quarters of Kaplan students are women, most in their 30s, pursuing associates, bachelors and masters degrees, or career-oriented certificates. Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta has sent provisional offer letters of admissions to nine successful candidates belonging to the other backward classes (OBC) category as per the earlier directive of the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). An official spokesman of IIM-C said admissions for the 2008-10 batch were being finalised and the provisional letters of offer were being sent.
