S. Ramadorai, CEO, TCS Addresses MBA Students at BIMs 22nd Foundation Day
In August 1984, Bharat Ratna Shri. C. Subramanian along with Prof. P. S. Mani Sundaram, the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University chaired a meeting of leading academicians and industrialists and an idea was born. This led to the management institute strategically located at one of Indias Navratna PSUs. That was the genesis of Bharathidasan Institute of Management - School of Excellence.
Twenty-two years down the line, BIM celebrates its Foundation Day as one of the premier business institutes in our country. Padma Bhushan Shri S. Ramadorai, CEO & MD, Tata Consultancy Services, presides the Foundation Day celebrations. Shri Ramadorai has played a key role in building TCS into one of the worlds largest software companies. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors of BIM.

KHARAGPUR: More than 350 well-placed IIT alumni in the US are ready to send aid to their institute and this could run into a few hundred million dollars. But there is a problem.
"Most of the time we keep sending aid without knowing what the institute actually wants," said Deb Parvati, who deals with Technology in Medical Education in the University of Stanford and is also the president of the IIT Foundation in the USA. This due to lack of dialogue between the authorities and the institute train students.

The two-year course in leadership and management was launched in conjunction with the University of Bradfords School of Lifelong Education and Development (SLED).
Its aim is to equip managers, specifically in the fire and rescue service, with a dual academic and vocational qualification, and the skills needed to carry out their role.
The course has been adopted by a number of brigades across the country, and is seen as an alternative to the Fire Service College in Gloucestershire.

The executive MBA program offered jointly by the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary has leaped to 28th place in worldwide rankings by the Financial Times of London.
University of Alberta business dean Mike Percy traced the improvement to a gradual strengthening of the program plus a healthy Alberta economy that has boosted graduates' salaries - one of many factors in the annual survey.
He was especially pleased that the program ranked 17th in contributing to graduates' career progress, and 22nd in whether they achieved their aims.
