NUC announces ban on 26 MBA programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja announced a ban on 26 universities from conducting the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programmes.

The out-going Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola, announced the ban while presenting his handing-over notes to his successor, Prof. Julius Okojie.

Okebukola named the institutions denied accreditation to include Lagos State University (LASU), saying it refused to subject its programme to NUC accreditation team.

Others are University of Abuja, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; Ebonyi State University, and Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

With the quota row not completely over, IIM Calcutta has quietly followed IIM Ahmedabad in 2007 in announcing their minimum acceptable cutoff scores in the CAT bulletin to maintain minimum standards.
