Corporates swoop down on IIM-B graduates Placements 2004-05

The much-awaited campus placements for the 2004-05 batch of students at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM-B) commenced here on Thursday.

On day one, 14 companies conducted the preliminary processes of selection. The final interviews will be held on Friday.

This year, the selection process is different at IIM-B. Aiming to reduce the pressure on students and corporates, the institute has staggered the process for each of the 115 participating companies from all over the globe, by a day. While the preliminary processes will be held on the first day, the interviews will take place on the second day.

The scheduled calender for placements is March 10 to 17. As many as 115 companies have reached the campus to hire 190 students of the batch.

Indian School of Business Sets new Benchmarks for Placements

The Indian School of Business, for the second time consecutively, has set new benchmarks for placements in 2005. The ISB has recorded the highest international offer of $181,000 (Rs 80 lakhs). The average international salary at $100,000 (Rs 44 lakhs) recorded a jump of 19% from 2004. The highest Indian salary at the ISB this year is Rs 20 lakhs and the average Indian salary stands at Rs 10 lakhs, representing a rise of 11% from last year. A student of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, received a foreign offer of $100,000 as placements proceeded at the institute. Graduates from top Jharkhand institutes get their due

RANCHI: Graduates from Jharkhand’s top five educational institutes are being wooed by big companies, with fat pay packets. About 3,000 students from the five top institutes have got placements with MNCs. The five institutes are Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, Institute of Social Management (ISM), Dhanbad, Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi, and BIT Sindri, Dhanbad.
